Dio Disciples has been performing together for about 6 years, since the world lost Ronnie to cancer. Ripper and the band members were all friends of Dio’s and he in particular wanted to pass the torch on to a fellow great vocalist like Tim Ripper Owens. Oni Logan and Joe Retta are always fantastic when they perform with the band, the crowd is never disappointed- but when Ripper joins them it is especially spectacular. They even have new songs that are nothing less than a great surprise. So, it is well worth your while concert-goers to attend a Dio Disciples event and enjoy the community especially when there is a Stand Up and Shout RJD cancer fundraiser benefit hosted by Harley- Davidson Glendale.

The band members for this show were Tim Ripper Owens, Oni Logan, Joe Retta, Craig Goldy, Scott Warren, Bjorn Englen, although not appearing for this show they have many times in the past are Vinny Appice, and Rudy Sarzo.

Wendy Dio was present as well and we are looking forward to seeing her again at future benefit events.

He was one of Ronnie James Dio’s closest friends, and the memory of Ron lives on. Simon was his drummer for many years, after recording more than four studio albums and many live stage performances.

Simon Wright declared “I think Axl is doing a fantastic job!”
Hek82 praised the Dio Disciples and Simon shared a story about his days with Ronnie. “He was a good friend”.

The Dio Disciples performance was stupendous like no other when Tim Ripper Owens took over the vocals to join Oni Logan, and Joe Retta. New songs like “Superstar” surprised the crowd, it couldn’t have been better with Scott Warren on keys, Craig Goldy on guitar, Bjorn Englen on bass, and Simon Wright on drums.

Stand Up and Shout, the RJD cancer fund celebrated another successful auction and many donations were made, the benefit concerts being attended by many Harley- Davidson riders thanks to Glendale Harley.
